I have observed that Arabic calligraphy is restricted as Islamic calligraphy and has been used for religious purposes both in the past and at the present time. The use of Arabic calligraphy for the purpose of beautification is still used within a narrow field, such as on the entrance to mosques and also in the interior of Muslim households. Therefore, the project is not just concerned with designing wallpaper by using Arabic calligraphy combine with illumination but to show that this calligraphy can be used by non-Muslims and non-Arabic speaking communities for beautification such as interior design.
3D Reconstruction as part of a multidisciplinary group project. Brief set by De Montfort University and Kent County Council.
